INPUT on the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism
The International Public Television Conference, INPUT 2009, has been included into the schedule of ceremonies taking place this year commemorating the 20th anniversary of the overthrow of communism in Central/Eastern Europe by the Council for the Protection of the Memory of Struggle and Martyrdom.
For the first time in its nearly thirty-year history and nearly exactly on the 20th anniversary of the Round Table talks and first free elections in Poland, the prestigious INPUT conference will take place in a Central/Eastern European country.
Therefore, the Warsaw conference will include, in addition to creative artists from around the world, scores of journalists, authors, managers and people from television from countries in our region. At INPUT we want to involve as many professionals working for television stations in post-communist countries as possible in international cooperation. Over 600 delegates from over 50 countries, of which 19 are from the former soviet bloc, have confirmed their participation at the conference.
The goal of INPUT is to create and promote new programming ideas, new directions in thinking in creating contemporary television in the public interest. Our hope is that INPUT in Warsaw will contribute to strengthening co-operation among public television stations in this part of the world as well as reinforcing their presence on the international television market.
We encourage you to take part in INPUT, which will take place on May 10-15 at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw.
