Terry Pound’s retirement
Terry Pound, the long-standing national coordinator for INPUT in the USA as well as manager of the US office is about to retire. Terry has participated in the fair since 1984, when as a true gentleman from the South, he helped the then coordinator Sandie Pedlow carry boxes filled with heavy INPUT tapes up the stairs.
Terry became affiliated with South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV) as a filmmaker. He later ran the School Services Division and created many programs. SCETV manages the American office of INPUT and is responsible for the selections. That is where Terry started. He was responsible for organizing the first selection (the pre-selection) for the fair in 1984. Two years later he participated in INPUT in Montreal and since then has participated in almost all the fairs.
Pound worked as an American ambassador at the fairs by actively participating and supporting his friends from other television stations. What he values in INPUT is the unique forum it provides for business people.
Many of our delegates get hooked on "the INPUT experience" and continue to attend the conferences year after year. Without exception they report getting re-energized and inspired from seeing the works of others and getting involved in the discussions. Many have said that of all the television program conferences and film festivals available, this is their conference of choice.”
Terry organized and shaped the fairs and has observed their development with satisfaction. “Now that INPUT is being held for the first time on the other side of the Iron Curtain we can truly say that the conference knows no boundaries.” He values the cooperation at and popularity of the fairs among young artists and he appreciates that INPUT is a unique forum for creative artists, where the “old hands” can share their precious experience with the young.
This year Pound is stepping down as International INPUT Coordinator. He will hand over his responsibilities to his friend, Amy Schumacher. “My twenty five years involvement with INPUT has made my world a bit smaller, my circle of friends much larger, and my life a lot richer, and for this I am forever grateful!” said Terry.
