TVP at INPUT 2001 in Cape Town
The following TVP productions were presented as part of INPUT:
"JESTEM ZŁY" (Such is my Karma), is a documentary film by Grzegorz Pacek. Children from a poor part of Warsaw talk about their lives. The originality of the author's point of view is that he turns the camera over to his young subjects. The resulting collective self-portrait shocks us with its naturalism and forces us to thing about our future.
"ŚWIAT MOICH WUJKÓW," directed by Krzysztof Magowski, is a nostalgic documentary about the life of one of Poland's landowning families. The main characters of the film are the elderly Doerffer brothers, who recall places from their childhood and youth. Contemporary shots are interwoven with historical images from the interwar years taken by Stefan, one of the brothers, seventy years ago. This chronicle of the Doerffer family again brings to life the world of early motor cars, horse-drawn carriages, the first steam engines, and the wealthy landed gentry.
