TVP at INPUT 2003 in Aarhus
The following TVP productions were presented as part of INPUT:
"PRZEŁAMUJĄC CIESZĘ" - a documentary film by Leszek Wosiewicz. Joanna, Ela, Regina, Róża, Justyna, Ula, Staszek, Wiesław, and Robert are deaf or hear very poorly. Some of them were born deaf, others lost their hearing due to illness or accidents. Each of them suffers a great deal due to his or her disability. The young ones in particular see it as an undeserved punishment that seriously limits the fulfillment of their plans and dreams. They don't give them up, yet they know that they must overcome additional hurdles. One day they meet Jarek Wajk, a musician and leader of the "Bogu" Integration Group. He is a marvelous, big-hearted person, who wants and knows how to help others. They will soon learn that thanks to Jarek, they will be able to realize one of their dreams, singing in public.
"TAJNE TAŚMY SB" - by Piotr Morawski. In 2001, dust-covered boxes containing spools of film are discovered in the archives of Office for State Protection. They turn out to be the remnants of a huge film archive from the communist era destroyed in the 1980s. After reviewing the discovered material, it was decided that a film should be made about it with the participation of the crew that originally filmed the material. A former high-ranking officer of the Security Service responsible for surveillance of Jacek Kuroń was asked to comment on the material. Most of the tapes consisted of operational material filmed on orders of the Security Service. The cameras captured the most important people associated with the opposition movement in communist Poland. We see activists in the Workers' Defense Committee: Jacek Kuroń, Adam Michnik, Antoni Pajdak, Anka Kowalska, Jan Józef Lipski, Halina Mikołajska, and Leszek Kołalowski.
"SIŁACZKA" - directed by Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz. Lifting weights was to have opened completely new possibilities for her. Training, competitions, victories, in a word, a world the village girl had never before seen. However, her dreams ended very quickly. The thirteen-year-old strongwoman started being molested by her coach and forced to take drugs. Instead of career, she had a nightmare, one which grew worse with time...
